Wedding cakes are and always will be a wonderful tradition that wedding guests not only love to eat, but photograph and talk about as well. 

Make sure you choose your cake bakery wisely.  Be sure to set up an appointment to look at photos of past wedding cakes the bakery, or pastry chef has made, and ask for at least 4 or 5 referrals of past clients. 

Don't just ask for the referrals, contact them too.  You should also check web references as well such as review sites. 

Be sure to ask about licensing too.  You don't want to use a bakery that is not properly licensed.  Don't be afraid to ask to see the kitchen where the cakes are baked as well.  Nothing can ruin your appetite for wedding cake more than a roach infested and filthy kitchen.
